Countdown on for Worth & Veritas

Published on Thursday, December 16, 2010 in General

Tomorrow Horsezone ambassador Georgia Worth and Veritas will take on 13 young riders from all over the globe at the 2010 Young Riders World Cup Finals in Frankfurt.

The first class, the Young Rider Team Championship Test, will act as a warm-up class and will be followed on Friday by the Young Rider Individual test. The top seven combinations from the individual will go on to compete in the Kur to Music A-final on Saturday, with the remaining combinations riding in Sunday's B-Final.

Leading up to the competition, the combination has been based at Ann Kathrin Linsenhoff's Schafhof Stables in Kronberg, Germany.

Getting there was a long trip after being delayed a day as the runway lights failed in Auckland, so the Singapore Air Cargo plane did not arrive in Melbourne until the next day, leaving at 8pm on the 28th November.  After a had a stopover in Singapore of about eight hours sitting on the tarmac in a security fenced area and fans on the horses to keep them cool there was another short stop in the Dubai before arriving in Brussels at 5.30pm on the 30th November.

The combinations were then picked up by the transporter at 3am on the 1st December, arriving at Schafhof 10am that morning.

Valdi has settled in well and is eating, which is good as he tends to stress and stops eating with location changes, touch wood he keeps it up!

Georgia and her mother Janne have now been joined by trainer Ben Conn & Team Manager Rosanne Rix. Georgia has drawn eighth in the first test and seventh in the second so stay tuned to Horsezone to see how Georgia goes.
