David Galvin Fundraiser Show
Published on Wednesday, October 27, 2010 in General
A fund raising show will be held at Burpengary Equestrian Centre on 27 - 28 November to help raise funds for the David Galvin Appeal. Most Australians have heard the tragic story of David Galvin, a firefighter who thought nothing of risking his life to help others, almost a year ago broke his neck in a freak accident playing on the beach with his family, which made him a quadriplegic. In the blink of an eye, David, an active and devoted father and husband's life was changed. David spent a year in the Princess Alexander Hospital Spinal Unit and now this brave man is heading home.
David, an all-round gentleman as described by his friends, had his backyard converted into a wheelchair friendly space by his mates in just 10 days, to help make life at home easier.
Now David needs a wheelchair friendly car to help him get around and the Western Horse Forum and South East Queensland Appaloosa Club have decided to assist wtih raising funds for the appeal, by running two days of horse shows with events for everyone!
Keep your diary free on 27 - 28 November and come along to the Burpengary Equestrian Centre where there will be a Hack and Novelty Events day on Saturday, buffet dinner Saturday night followed by Dressage, Western Pleasure, Showmanship, Vaulting, Barrel Racing and Hunter in Hand demonstrations - something for every horse enthusiast! On Sunday there will be a full Western Show, judged by Joanne Gregory. So, no matter what horse sport you're into, head to BEC on the last weekend in November for heaps of fun and raise money for an Aussie hero who now needs our help!
