Delphi Second in Encana Cup at Spruce Meadows
Published on Tuesday, September 13, 2011 in General
Delphi, formerly owned by the McVean and Shore Families, finished second in the Encana Cup over the weekend at Spruce Meadows, with new jockey Kamal Bahamdan.
A record crowd of 59,765 watched the $100,000 Class, which was won by Lauren Hough (USA) and her nine year old mare Blue Angel. The Leopoldo Palacios (VEN) designed course took its toll on the 25 starters, with just three advancing to the jump-off and one of those being the New Zealand bred Delphi. Unfortunately a rail in the jumpoff relegated Kamal and Delphi into second place.
