Charlie Brister and his war horse Timmy Almighty thundered to glory in the Centennial Vineyards CNC1* last weekend in perfect conditions at Berrima Horse Trials in NSW.

Stuart Tinney riding Annapurna was hard on their heels in second place, while Sam Lyle on Kaloona Grace shot up from 10th place to 3rd after flawless cross country and showjumping rounds.

Charlie also won another blue ribbon in Preliminary on his young Irish Sport Horse Ashmead Her Highness.

“The cross country was awesome – Timmy and I really clicked on the day.  It was his first CNC1* so it was an astonishing triumph.  Even though Timmy isn’t speedy (he picked up 1.2 time penalties) his dressage and show jumping had given him a handy margin,” Charlie explained.
