Dr Kohnke's Newsletter - What Are Enteroliths?
Published on Monday, June 6, 2011 in Health
Check out Dr Kohnke's latest newsletter and find out all about Enteroliths. What are enteroliths you may well ask? They are formations or ‘concretions’ of magnesium, phosphorus and ammonium complexes which form around a ‘nidus’ or indigestible object and develop over time into solid ‘stones’ in the large bowel of horses. This process is similar to the layering effect as occurs with a grain of sand in an oyster to form a pearl.
There's also information about Peritonitis, Laminitis, Hoof Abscesses and more.
