EA Awards Night Auction Raises Funds for Development Programs
The team at Equestrian Australia put on a brilliant night of reflection, celebration and inspiration at Sydney Olympic Park on Wednesday night, for their inaugural Sport Achievement Awards.
290 guests enjoyed the gala evening and with over 20 awards to announce on the night, Australian swimming icon Nicole Livingstone (who escaped a wardrobe malfunction, having turned up with two left shoes to wear and is pictured with Wayne Roycroft), did a stellar job in keeping the ball rolling while still ensuring everyone got their moment of glory.
Inglis auctioneer Jonathan Darcy was on fine form, selling off donated memorabilia and a corporate box at the Wallabies vs Samoa rugby match, to raise a total of $11,900, while another $1,500 was raised through the sale of raffle tickets on the night.
The raffle winner, Suzie Kearns, kindly donated the prize back to be auctioned as well, a beautiful World Equestrian Games Australian Team rug, which was greatly appreciated and helped increase the amount raised.
The total raised on the night was an impressive $13,400, which will go towards Equestrian Australia's development programs.
