Equestrian Australia is pleased to announce the Hall of Fame Horse Inductee
Equestrian Australia is pleased to announce that Kevin Bacon’s Chichester will be inducted into the EA Hall of Fame on Wednesday 7 May.
Although equestrian is an individual sport, the horse and rider combination are a team and the bond between the famous pairing of Kevin Bacon and Chichester is remarkable. Kevin and Chichester had an extraordinarily long partnership with the duo competing at the highest level of jumping for 12 years.
The jet-black gelding also known as the “Black Kangaroo” competed at the 1968 Mexico Olympics where they placed 18th individually and the team placed 9th. At the 1976 Olympics in Montreal, Canada, he was part of the team which finished 9th. Read more about the ChichesterHERE.
Now in its fourth year, the Equestrian Australia Hall of Fame pays tribute to the heroes of equestrian sport. For the first time inductees have been selected by living Hall of Fame members. Tickets are available HERE
Stay tuned to the EA website for more Hall of Fame announcements. Over the coming days EA will reveal a new Hall of Fame inductee each day.
Equestrian Australia's Sport Achievement Awards Night is presented by Gow Gates Insurance Brokers.
