Equine Lifestyle Festival Day 3 Results
EVENT RESULTS ON HORSEZONE BOUGHT TO YOU BY AUDI CENTRE SYDNEY
The final day of the Equine Lifestyle Festival was packed with finals competition. The best riders of the remaining disciplines showed why they were in the elite, qualifying for the penultimate in equine accolades.
The Australian Horseball Championships played host to the best of Australian bred Stock Horses. The Open Final was fought out between the team from Schwager Contracting and Schwager and Sons, Schwager Contracting coming out on top and Chris Young winning Best Open Male Player. The Junior Division was won by Carey’s Freight Lines and Best Junior Male Player was taken out by Tyler Simpson, with the best female and junior player accolade handed to Mel Young.
John Cooper aboard Good Time did just that, winning the Dressage preliminary 1.2 and claiming Runner-Up in the Preliminary 1.3 to Courtney Larard on board Benalbyn Rock On By. the Medium 4.2 and 4.3 Sally Rizutto and Blacktie managed to pip Tarsha Hammond on Bradgate Park Foxtrot at the post.
Danielle Leek and Dasimle Mandela Salude walked away with the Prix St Georges ahead of Pip Cooper and her mount Andross.
The Mounted Games Championship Final saw both a national and international head to head. New South Wales 186) held its lead over the rest of the field to take out the Australian Championship, a brave Victoria came second (170), then South Australia (149), Western Australia (139.5), Tasmania (98), and finally Queensland (94.5). The Nations Championship was separated by just one point between first and second, home ground Australia (156) won over rivals New Zealand (155), USA came third (126) and South Africa finished fourth (79).
The West Arena was packed with showjumping today, Martin Gostelow on Briar Rose won the Amateur Championships, Nathan Williams on BMW Vittoria settling for the red ribbon. Crowd favorite Jessie Smith was crowned the Centuria Capitol Junior Champion on board Limo beating Bradley Arnold-Cooks and Copabella Valor. Brock Harvey won the Premier Stakes with Thunder Down Under, Clem Smith keeping the name in the spotlight with Guru picking up silver. Maverick Miles braved some tough conditions to cement himself as the Best Young Rider.
The Super Series Campdraft Junior division was won by Logan Berkley aboard Coomelea Henabo, the juvenile division was won by Brooke Anderson with Nichollette. Lyn Kelly and her horse Greentop Drummer took out the Ladies section and the Centuria Capitol Open Campdraft saw Lachlan Maxwell and Spookinator ride to victory.
The Arabians strutted their stuff in front of the judges in the bid to take home the title of Ultimate Saddle Horse the East Ring at lunchtime. The Ultimate Arabian Derivative Saddle Non Pro was taken out by the stunning Messahn while in the Pro category Kielshoop Honey Hill beat Cheval de Luxe for the top stop. Chelleason Magnum’s Gold won the Arabian Ultimate Purebred Saddle Horse Pro competition and Miss Eminence won the Non Pro category.
