The EQUITANA Australia team would like to thank those who took the time to fill out their EQUITANA survey. They are constantly looking at improving EQUITANA based on the feedback of loyal supporters, so this year they are adopting a new format for the Event Program, based on feedback from exhibitors. There will be more time to get around those busy exhibiton halls and to get from one sessions to another without having to rush! Keep your eyes peeled for more information about the new program format!

The Way of the Horse Audition Process
This year sees a new format for choosing the three trainers who will be undertaking the TWOTH challenge. Based on Horsemanship experience and video footage supplied, applicants will be short listed to five and then go through an audition with an unbroken horse to determine if they have the level of skill required. Applicants will be judged by an independent panel comprised of respected equine trainers Ian Francis, Manolo Mendez, Sandi Simons and EQUITANA Staff.
New Education Program Format
The 2012 Education Program will provide the opportunity for everyone to see longer and more extensive presentations by Australia's and the World's greatest horse professionals. New event duration hours are 9.00am - 6.00pm Thursday to Saturday but Sunday will remain from 9.00am - 4.00pm. There will also be an early afternoon break to give attendees the chance to walk around the exhibition and grab a bite to eat.
Australian Stock Horse State of Origin Time Trial Challenge
This “NEW TO EQUITANA” challenge brings top riders and horses from each state together to complete a tight and demanding course in a time-trial against the clock. Obstacles will be set in Australian bush format, with loads of surprises for competitors, so don’t miss this thrilling new addition to the EQUITANA outdoor competition program.
Equestrian Grand Final - In Melbourne!
Equestrian Australia and EQUITANA Melbourne are pleased to present the Equestrian Grand Final, the event that brings Australia’s leading competitors in Dressage, Jumping and Eventing together in one spectacular event. This concept provides a unique opportunity to showcase the very best athletes from the Olympic disciplines in a professional and dynamic competition environment. This year Melbourne equestrian fans are in for a treat, as the fast-paced Exhibition Eventing.
