Another big day at Equitana done and dusted!

Today's highlights included the Edward Gal and Hans Peter Minderhoud Dressage Clinic, held in the Dome arena this morning, which was hugely popular and enjoyed by all who attended.

The Way of the Horse took over the Dome arena again this afternoon, with the competition hotting up! By the end of the day Greg Powell was riding his little horse around bareback, with a roller and saddle pad.  David Manchon and Dan Maloney were getting on well with theirs and both had saddles on, but hadn't mounted up at this stage. All horses and trainers look to be progressing really well and everyone is keen for the outcome tomorrow.

In amongst these major events, we managed to watch the Breed Parade of Stallions where it was a pleasure to see some lovely types from various breeds including Morgan, Welsh Mountain Pony, Australian Stock Horse, Spanish Horse, Caspian Horse, Waler and the magnificent Friesian stallion Hotse, who is listed in Horsezone's Stallions at Stud and is even more magnificent in the flesh!

The Trick Riding Championships were also held and showed talented riders performing some amazing moves on the back of a horse!

We also watched a session on 'Why Horses Love Polocrosse' and Boyd Exell explaining 'Bitting Techniques for Driving Horses'.  Stay tuned for an upcoming Five Minutes With... Boyd Exell, after I caught up with him this afternoon and found out more about this accomplished Aussie, who is showing the Europeans how it's done in the world of FEI Four in Hand Driving!

I also managed a great chat with Stacy Westfall about how her methods will benefit my western pleasure horse and will be catching up with her after Equitana to find out her thoughts on Equitana and Aussies!  She's so friendly and helpful to fans who want her to sign their posters and is more than happy to chat for ages about their horses and training issues.

Highlights of my day was chatting to Stacy Westfall, seeing Hotse in the flesh and interviewing Boyd Exell.

The highlight of today for both Georgia and Haylie was The Way of the Horse, where they both thoroughly enjoyed watching the skills of the trainers and progess of the young horses.  They also enjoyed catching up with Greg Powell and David Manchon afterwards - look out Dan Maloney, we'll be looking for you tomorrow! They also loved the Bison Campdrafting and Campdrafting competition, which neither had seen before.

The Equestrian Grand Final - Dressage Grand Prix Freestyle - is being held in the Dome Arena tonight and we're all looking forward to watching these magnificent horses performing.
