EQUITANA Sydney Equine Action and Entertainment Update

EQUITANA, which is being held from 10 - 13 November at Sydney Showground has plenty of fantastic equine action and entertainment lined up for spectators, including:

 

Arabian Showcase

It is with great pleasure that EQUITANA and the Arabian Horse Breeders Alliance of Australasia join forces to present a showcase of Pure Bred Arabian horses at the Sydney event this year.  The showcase promises the exciting spectacle of riders and horses in flamboyant costumes and halter classes for stallions, mares, colts, fillies and geldings. This exciting spectacle will be held in the main arena on Thursday 10th November 2011 at 10am. Barrel Racing

For the first time ever, Equitana, Mitavite and the Australian Barrel Horse Association have teamed up to bring the exciting sport of Barrel Racing to the Outdoor Arena. If you like awesome horses, pretty cowgirls and super, fast paced competition, this is the event for you! Of all the western events, barrel racing fast the reputation of being the fastest and most glamorous. Be sure to come and see how much fun you too could have barrel racing! For more information.

 

Vaulting Freestyle

Vaulting Australia is proud to present the Vaulting Freestyle Final at EQUITANA, where some of Australia’s top vaulters will be contending for the title.  Competitors in the women’s division include: - Krystle Lander, Leni Maher, Jerry Butt, and Emma Moulds and in the men’s, Lee Briggs, Jamie Hocking, Zac Singlehurst and David Waller. These vaulters have all competed at the final qualifier, the Sydney CVI International Vaulting Event. For more information.

 

Coolidowns Stock Horse Stud - Providing Horses for 'The Way Of The Horse'

This year in Sydney the young un-started horses to be used for The Way of The Horse challenge presented by Hawkesbury River Saddlery Co, will be proudly provided by Coolidowns Stock Horse Stud. Owners Sue and Reg Ryan have been breeding Australian Stock Horses for over forty years, selectively breeding an average of only 12 foals annually. Coolidowns horses are extremely versatile and are excelling in most equine sports including: dressage, Campdrafting polocrosse, jumping, showing and pony club.

 

International Aussie Stars at the Exhibition Eventing Final

UK-based eventing riders Paul Tapner, Sam Griffiths and Clayton Fredericks will be among the starters at the Exhibition Eventing final at EQUITANA on Sunday 13th November. The riders have been invited to ride borrowed horses in the competition, which will add an even stronger competitive edge to the field, as they line up against Olympic and World Games team mates Shane Rose, Stuart Tinney and Megan Jones.
