Eurobodalla Show - Showjumping Results

The 2012 Eurobodalla show saw a good role up of equestrian competitors with events for hacking, Australian Stock Horses, team penning, sporting, showjumping and even a fun gymkhana ring.

In the showjumping, course builder Kirsty McPaul and Judge Greg Grant, were kept very busy with two great days of jumping. Jake Goodlock helped out in the ring all weekend picking up rails and changing the course along with a few other Bega Jump Club members. 

The first day saw two great wins to Bega girl Gemma Harrington riding Presto in the 90cm and 1m classes. Watch out Tom I think Gemma may become the number one rider soon!

Other winners on day one included local girl Lucy Evans, Brett Clarke and Lane Clarke from Candelo, Brydie Tarlington and Abbey OInch.

There was also a second showjumping ring on day one with classes from cross rails through to 70cm. There were good numbers in all classes and it was great to see a local show like Eurobodalla being able to offer classes from cross rails all the way through to A and B grades, thus supporting all levels of riding.

Day two dawned with cloudy skies and muggy conditions, none of which daunted any of the competitors. A few light showers throughout the day helped to cool things off, however, this made the ground a little slippery for the early classes. 

One could say day two was all about the Clarke family with both Lane and Brett each winning two classes out of the total seven for the day. Lane won the Junior under 14 and then the 90cm riding GH Rambo while Brett won the D grade on Jumbuck and then the Accumulator riding the great little horse GH Tigerlily. Local girl Emily Evans also had a great day winning the Junior 14-18 years on her mother's horse Viva Joy. Neville Cuzner completed a tight double clear round in the 125cm on SS Turbo Mack, just three one hundreds of a second ahead of Sandra Kenny and Alando. Shannon Turner, riding the lovely Sym Narnia, took out the C and D grade ahead of Patrick Jeffery on Castiana Fred, the only two double clear rounds.

Another great weekend of jumping was had by all on the South Coast, with the action now set to move to the Monaro with Nimmitabel show on 4 February.
