Extreme Sport - Horse Surfing!
With thousands of kilometres of pristine beaches and surfing a hugely popular pastime - is it only a matter of time before horse surfing takes off in Australia like it has in Europe?
Pro kitesurfer Harold Quinquis claims to have invented the adrenalin fuelled pastime while in search of something fast and different. With horse surfers travelling through the water at extremely fast speeds (a horse can gallop at up to 60km/hour), they literally fly across the waves.
Harold has even held Horse Surfing Shows in Baule, France, mixing the Kite and Equestrian sports, creating a new and spectacular sport, which is fun for surfers and horse people alike!
There are so many remote beaches around Australia that would be perfect for this sport, however, we can't see it taking off at Surfers Paradise just yet - too many tourists would be mowed down!
