Great Rodeo Action in Round Two of the ABCRA National Finals

Published on Friday, January 25, 2013 in Event Results

Round two of the ABCRA National Finals was another great night of action. Coonamble’s Nathan Burtenshaw took home the winners cheque in the Bull Ride with 88 points.  The Saddle Bronc was great in round two with Brad Pierce taking home first place with 78 points.  David Worsfold from Wandoan rode his horse to win the Bareback event with 78 points.

Cody Sheahan was extremely fast with a time of 4.51 seconds to win the Steerwrestling event. Local competitor Blayne Parkinson was round two’s Champion in the Rope and Tie with 13.89 seconds.  The Team Roping was in hot contention last night with Ben Smith and Troy O’Neile taking home the winners cheque in 7.50 seconds.

North Queensland competitor Suzie Fearon was quick off the mark in the Steer Undecorating recording a time of 2.98 seconds.  With the time being recorded back to one hundredth of a second you would think a tie in the Barrel Race would be just about impossible but round two of the Barrel Race proved otherwise.  All Round Cowgirl Nichole Fitzpatrick (pictured) and Barrel Racing Champion Bianca Hertel both recorded a time of 17.56 seconds and took home equal first place.  Kellie Salter was on top in the Breakaway roping with a time of 2.77 seconds.

The Bull Fighter of the Year was also awarded last night.  Congratulations to Lincoln Brown from Manilla for receiving this award for the third time.  With two more nights of action, entertainment is guaranteed.
