Hawkesbury Dressage Needs You for Their Committee or Events Secretary Position
The Hawkesbury Dressage Club is holding their AGM on 15 November and is issuing an urgent plea to their membership for help!
The committee is burnt out and over half of the current committee have advised of their decision not to stand again for 2012.
Coupled with the resignation of the Event Secretary a few weeks ago, this has left the club in a desperate situation and could result in closure of the club.
THIS CAN AND WILL HAPPEN if they don't get AT LEAST five more volunteers on the committee.
Closure of Hawkesbury Dressage Club will be a disaster for dressage in the area.
More and more clubs are feeling the pressure as riders, owners, supporters etc turn up, ride, say thank you and go! The sport is growing, the volunteer brigade IS NOT!!!
THIS IS SERIOUS! PLEASE consider giving back to YOUR sport!
What commitment is required to be on the committee?
1. We meet once a month at the Richmond RSL Club. We often meet early and have dinner together, it's a great catch up time.
2. We have 4...just FOUR competitions per year, at around 3 monthly intervals. These are held at SIEC
3. We have 2 Protocol or Training days per year.
What skills are needed?
Simply a love of horses and dressage, enthusiasm to help the club grow and meet its potential, a fun attitude and maybe a few good ideas. Everyone has something, some skill that they can offer our sport. The rest you can learn!
What do you get out of it?
Not much! UNLESS you happen to love hanging out with like minded people, feeling like part of a team, and contributing to one of the best equestrian sports in the world.
Hawkesbury Dressage Club are a friendly club that prides itself on being able to offer the opportunity to ride at one of the best facilities in the country and at all levels to EVERY RIDER. "We do not just cater to the elite or the professional, nor do we only focus on the novice or green rider (but we do love to see those riders progress up the levels). We pride ourselves on being a Horse Friendly group, our motto 'For the Sake of the Horse' means that horse welfare and the promotion of kind, classical training methods are our priority."
THIS IS THE 21st YEAR OF OPERATION...PLEASE DON'T LET HAWKESBURY DRESSAGE CLUB DIE!!
