Helpful Hints - Emergency Contact Sheet for your horse
Published on Friday, March 12, 2010 in General
Always keep an Emergency Contact information sheet for your horse in an easy to find place. If you have boarded your horse, ensure that your horse’s carers get a copy.
The emergency contact sheet should contain the following information:
- Horse’s name
- Your full contact details, especially a mobile number.
- Your horse insurance policy number and insurance contact details, especially a 24hr emergency contact number.
- Your Veterinarian’s contact details, especially an after hours emergency number.
- Your Farrier’s contact details.
- Your horse’s Dentist contact details.
- Note any allergies
- Note any pre-existing conditions, especially if they have been recently or are currently undergoing treatment.
- Note up-to-date vaccination information.
Having this information available can make a lot of difference in getting treatment underway if need be.
