Hendra virus scare for victim's colleague

Veterinary surgeon Kylie Schaaf, a colleague of Dr Cunneen (who died from the virus in 2008) attended a horse south of Brisbane, which last night tested positive to the deadly virus - she took blood samples from the 30 year old horse at Park Ridge on Monday.

The horse is the sixth to die after falling ill in four separate Hendra outbreaks in southeast Queensland and northern NSW in the past two weeks.
