Horse Dies of a 'Broken Heart' Day before Owner
Published on Thursday, March 22, 2012 in General
The Daily Mail has reported that Lavender, a healthy horse who passed away one day before her young owner, Emma Smith, lost her battle with leukaemia, died of a broken heart according to Emma's devastated mother.
Emma, 23, of Kent in southeast England, died on 20 January, only a day after her beloved horse Lavender passed away from a rare form of colic despite having never been ill in her life.
Ms Smith's parents, Julie and Malcolm, said the horse and rider shared a special connection that led them to believe Lavender knew something was wrong.
So sad for the family to lose not only their beautiful daughter but also her beloved horse.
