Horse in Car Youtube Hit
Published on Monday, November 15, 2010 in General
A HORSE filmed riding in the back of a car in the United States has became a global internet sensation, following publication of the video on YouTube. Members of a family driving on the I-75 highway between Osage City and Topeka in Kansas couldn't believe their eyes when they spotted the horse, so they whipped out a video camera and captured the amazing footage.
Since being posted on the video-sharing site, the footage has turned up across the United Sates and on websites in the United Kingdom and Australia.
The video was captured by the Potter family of Osage City, about 128km southwest of Kansas City, as they drove to a Walmart outlet earlier this month.
Rick Potter, who runs Potters Barber Shop in Osage City, said he first noticed hair blowing out the car window while driving with wife Mandi, children Jade and Riley, and their friend Cheyenne.
"I thought 'my gosh that woman's got alot of hair', "Potter told NewsCore.
"I'm glad everyone enjoyed the video," Mr Potter said. "My kids were laughing, they couldn't believe it. It was a once-in-a-lifetime situation.
"My wife said 'smile horsey', and the horse turned its head. The horse was happy as can be walking around there looking back and forth."
It was later reported the horse in question, Rascal, is billed as "the smartest horse in the world" by his showman owner, Jerry Miller.
Miller told NewsCore Rascal is a therapy horse with an arsenal of 40 tricks. He drives Rascal all over Kansas in his car from their base in Pomona Lake.
