Horse Owners Among the Most Prolific "Cheaters" Says Survey

Published on Thursday, November 18, 2010 in General

It seems that all the goings-on in Jilly Cooper's novels mightn't be too far from the truth! A survey by an ex-marital website in the UK has found out a very interesting fact - horse owners are more likely to be unfaithful to their spouses!

EllicitEncounters.co.uk says that horse ownersare among those most likely to cheat on their partners.

In a survey of 2,000 "unfaithful spouses", the website discovered that the most common pet for cheaters to keep is a cat (45%), followed by a dog (29%) followed by horses and ponies (8%).

Interestingly, a higher percentage of male cheaters keep horses (9%) than women (6%)!

Sarah Hartley from EllicitEncounters.co.uk suggested that horses fit well with the demographic of a "cheater".

"Horses cost a lot to keep," she said. "Our clientele earn £5,000 more than the average Brit, so perhaps we shouldn't be surprised that their conspicuous consumption stretches to their choice of pets."
