• 10 State Titles
• 2011 Sydney CDI Intermediate 2 Champion
• 2011 QLD Grand Prix Big Tour Champion

Basil often scores 7 for his piaffe, he loves doing his one and two-time changes and also loves the challenge of a steep half pass. "He has the most amazing temperament and is a beautiful looking horse. He's completely sound and his legs are so clean. Whenever you take him anywhere, everyone just loves him. He is 15 years old but still thinks he is 10! He is the most polite horse to be around and a pleasure to ride," says Sally.

In addition to his talent under saddle, Basil is siring beautiful and trainable superstars. Sally is currently riding three of his youngsters and she wishes to compete them all. The oldest of Sally's Basil progeny is a five year old mare, who has already won three championship rugs! The purchase of Basil would be a wonderful opportunity to not only win at Grand Prix level, but to also become involved in breeding future dressage stars. Sally does AI with him and he has never been a problem.

What we really love:

Sally has had Basil since he was eight months old and has done all his training herself. Basil and Sally finished 2011 in the top ten at Grand Prix level in Australia. Sally found this to be unbelievably great fun, adding "I believe that whoever buys him, with good coaching, could reach the top five. This is a big country with limited CDI’s to compete at and the cost of travelling to get to some of these events is becoming difficult for me, so I am looking for a great home and wonderful person to take Basil on more in Grand Prix."

"He is a beautiful stallion and a quality horse. During the last three years, Basil has enjoyed a pretty easy lifestyle. My personal life and goals were put on hold with the loss of my sister and only this last 12 months has he had a full campaign at Grand Prix. At the QLD State Championships, Basil won every Big Tour Class! I love him and it will be very difficult for me to see him go, but I know his new owner will have a great, reliable and consistent dressage competition horse."

"The 2012 Sydney CDI International Dressage Event is having a CDI Young Rider World Cup Qualifier and a FEI Young Rider Under 25 years CDI Grand Prix. If an ambitious Young Rider purchased Basil, they could take this opportunity to qualify and ride at International level in May of this year and on this fabulous Stallion, be seriously looking to go overseas and represent Australia!"
