Horse We'd Love to Own... OP Myfirstdunit

Published on Wednesday, December 22, 2010 in Feature Horses

Specifics: Q-46626 Op Myfirstdunit (aka Roanie) is a 10 year old, 15hh, Red Roan Quarter Horse gelding (Dunit Downunder x Yulgilbar Glamour Chex) and is the ultimate reining schoolmaster. Roanie is a half brother to Ruf Cut - 2010 Non Pro Futurity Champion and full brother to Lil Pus - 2009 Non Pro Futurity Champion. Roanie has been in training with one of Australia's best reiners, Martin Larcombe.

He's an A-lister because: As well as being the best possible horse to teach a rookie rider all about reining, Roanie has some great achievements under his girth, including:

  • 2009 QRHA Limited Non Pro Reserve Champion
  • 2009 QRHA Rookie Reserve Champion
  • 2008 Slide to the Nationals Rookie Champion
  • 2007 GVRHA Affiliate Champion
  • 2005 NRHA Open Non Pro Champion
  • Winner of multiple end of year Hi-point Awards

What we really love:  Roanie is as close as you can get to a bomb proof horse, but he also possesses the necessary talent to win in the highly competitive sport of reining.  He is superbly educated and has taken his current owner from Green Rider to Rookie Champion.  Roanie is a total pleasure to own and show in all respects and is good to catch, clip, shoe, float and worm. As well as being a great confidence builder and teacher in the reining pen, Roanie is quiet to ride down the road or in the forest, on his own or in company.  He is great with children and his lovely temperament means that even people with no previous horse or riding experience, are able to handle Roanie on the ground and under saddle, with no problems.

Who deserves him?  This true gentleman of the horse world would suit a Youth/Beginner/Rookie/Non Pro reiner, who is looking for a new best mate who can not only improve their confidence and skills, but also help them to get out there and win!
