Horse We'd Love to Own... SS Sonata Hit

Specifics: Five year old, SS Sonata Hit, is a stunningly talented 17hh, brown Warmblood gelding, who excels at dressage.  SS Sonata Hit was imported in utero to Australia and is by Sandro Hit out of PSI Oktavia(Clintino/Landadel).  He was born at Saffron Stables on 16 December 2005 and was the first of Saffron Stables imported German breeding/embryo foals to be put under saddle and taken out competing.

 

On our A-list because: SS Sonata Hit is already a major achiever in the dressage arena.  In January 2010 he won the 2010 Young Horse Qualifier. Then at the 2010 Dressage and Jumping with the Stars, Sonata won the four year old Champion and was 2nd in the Champion of Champions.  The top three were ridden by International Guest rider Ton de Ridder and Ton's first words after dismounting from Sonata were, "WOW! I wish Germany was not so far away as I would like to take this horse back there with me." Ton de Ridder then awarded SS Sonata Hit the record perfect score of 10 out of 10!

What we really love:  SS Sonata Hit has so much to offer the serious dressage competitor, with his brilliant canter and a real ability to sit and collect. All three paces are excellent and he is maturing into a lovely horse. Sonata has a very rhythmical trot and has started some small half steps. He is an absolute delight to ride - always trying hard to please and eager to learn. In addition to his beautiful movement and trainability, Sonata is a very sensible horse, who you can ride up the drive and on the flat.

 

Who deserves him? SS Sonata Hit would suit a rider wanting to go Grand Prix, or someone who has the desire to own a seriously talented horse.
