Horseland Young Rider & Junior Jumping Victorian State Championships

Published on Wednesday, December 14, 2011 in Sponsored Shows

Horsezone is one of the sponsors of the Horseland Young Rider and Junior Jumping Victorian State Championships being held this weekend at Werribee.

This event promises to be an action packed weekend that incorporates the Young Rider State Title, Junior State Title, Under 14 Years Junior State Title and Inter-Country Teams Challenge.

The competition consists of a Combined Training event on Friday 16 December, a Two Phase event on Saturday 17 December and a Championship on Sunday 18 December.

A Leaderboard of the events over the three days will be kept with a Champion Rug and medal being presented to the overall highest scoring rider. The second highest scoring overall rider will receive a saddle blanket and a medal with medals being presented down to fourth place.

There will also be a Best Presented Male and Best Presented Female Rider award judged over the three days sponsored by NRG.

The visiting International Teams for 2011 are New Zealand and South Africa (who are new to this Challenge).  South Australian, Tasmanian and Victoria will be fielding teams and the rivalry between New Zealand and the Victorians is always keenly contested with the presentation of an annual trophy each year. This competition gives Young Riders valuable experience in the format of Team competition, which will stand them in good stead for National Senior Team events such as the Olympics.  The horses are borrowed so that the competition is fair to all.

There will also be a Masterclass conducted by Victorian State Coach and Olympian Jamie Coman. The class will offer insights on training the young horse. Riders for this Masterclass will be Senior riders that were former members of the Victorian Young Rider Squads.

Prizemoney has been listed for each event. Our sponsors have been very generous with product and this too will be distributed to placegetters throughout the weekend.

Entries are closed for this event, however, if you're looking for a weekend of showjumping entertainment, go along and check out the action at Werribee!
