Recently I had the tough job of taking a brand new Audi Q7 for test drive and it happened to have an Imperial Two Horse Warmblood angle load float attached.

So what does a horse crazy person do when this happens? Gets two large Warmblood Showjumpers on the float and puts the Q7 to the test!

The first class experience started  as I backed up to hook up the float, the reversing camera meant I could back straight onto the float, and then the Q7 had park assist to help me negotiate out of a tight parking spot, all part of the service with Audi.

Once the float was attached I managed to very easily raise the height of the car to give me the optimal load distribution and best performance while towing. As someone who loves technology this car is first class while still being simple to understand and more importantly use!

Plenty of space in the boot gave me room for all that I needed to take with me for the day out with our horses.

With the two horses loaded on the float, off I set. The eight speed Tiptronic gearbox gave us a smooth and controlled take off, then when I started to break at the first set of traffic lights, the engine kicked in and helped me slow down in a smooth steady approach, it certainly had all areas covered.

The Audi Q7 can tow 3.2 tonnes and can it tow it! My horses are shall we say ‘well loved’ and I put it to the test using every bit of the 3.2 tonne capacity with the float and horses combined, yet I felt the car handled it with ease. I had more power than I needed, not once did the car feel like it was struggling, control to feel safe and most importantly the Q7 travelled so smoothly, giving the horses and me as the driver a great ride.

Where do I start on the inside of the Audi Q7? It was sleek and impressive, so many extras that made my drive down the highway and back feel like I was in heaven. Pulling back into the Audi Centre Sydney and dropping off the Q7 was probably the hardest part of the day!
