Horsezone Reviews: Western Horse Calendar 2012

Published on Thursday, December 1, 2011 in Reviews

With the new year fast approaching, it's time to think about making sure you have a colourful and practical calendar, to hang up once 1 January 2012 rolls around.

Western Horse enthusiasts won't go past the glossy and slick Western Horse Calendar 2012, a generous 42cm x 30cm wall calendar, which will be the perfect place for keeping track of everything that's going on for the year.

This impressive calendar features beautiful photographs of a selection of Australia's top Quarter Horses, Paints and Appaloosas, posing halter perfect or performing in everything from western pleasure and reining to dressage.

Most major western shows and clinics for the year are noted on their appropriate dates with association contact numbers and/or websites included for several.  Public holidays and other generally important dates are also included.

There is a full page for each month and every day has a space for you to add in brief notes and reminders, plus there is a 'Notes' section at the top of each month.

There is advertising in the calendar but it is relevant to horse people and appropriate for the western industry. The advertisements are professionally created by Tania Hobbs, who has long been involved with the western industry.

There is even an interesting chart in the back of the calendar that indicates what colour foal you can expect, from crossing various coloured parents. Did you know a cremello and a chestnut will always produce a palomino, whereas a perlino and a chestnut can produce buckskin, palomino or smokey black? Fascinating!
