Inglis Increase Participation in China Horse Industry

Australia’s leading thoroughbred auction house, Inglis, were at the forefront of the China Horse Industry again last weekend, with the company participating in the 2012 Consul General’s Polo Cup and China Horse Racing Clubs League Trial Race Day.

Held at the immaculate Nine Dragons Hill Estate on the outskirts of Shanghai, Sunday’s exclusive event was hosted by the China Equestrian Association (CEA). One of the key official horse racing events since 2009, CEA assembled racing stewards, officials, horse racing club owners and industry participants from across China.

The weekend culminated in Polo Finals and five China National Horse Racing Club League races on Sunday afternoon. The thoroughbred only races were run over 1000m, 1100m, 1600 and 2500m, with Australian bred and Inglis sold gallopers starring for their owners.

Nine Dragons Hill Polo and Jockey Club had also invited many affluent individuals from throughout China to enjoy Sunday’s festivities, with sponsors turning on a great day for all spectators and potential new owners.

“China and Australia have a very strong relationship across many industries, with our close proximity, established and affordable transportation networks and similar climate a number of reasons why Australian bred racehorses thrive in China.

“Inglis certainly looks forward to assisting the development of the China horse industry for this wonderful country and its people,” Twomey said.

Inglis will continue to be involved in the China Horse Racing Clubs League as it moves around various venues across China in the coming six months.
