German expert, Christoph Hess to attend the Melbourne International Three-Day-Event.

The upcoming Melbourne International Three-Day-Event (MI3DE) at Werribee Park over the Queen’s Birthday weekend (Friday, 10 June – Monday, 13 June) has bolstered its international significance with German dressage master, Christoph Hess confirming his role as a guest judge.

Offering expert advice to riders as they compete for a position in the coveted Australian Olympic team for London 2012, Christoph will chair the Ground Jury for the CCI** and CCI*** eventing classes. In addition, he will join four international dressage judges for the CDI-W Dressage competition, a new addition to the 2011 program. In the CDI-W he will judge alongside Elizabeth McMullen from Canada, Alison King from Hong Kong and their respected Australian colleagues Ricky MacMillan, Virginia Creed and Jill Cobcroft.

“The MI3DE plays a significant role in supporting Australia’s finest and Equestrian Victoria is thrilled to secure Christoph Hess as an official judge at the event.

“With officials of this calibre involved we have reinforced the MI3DE as a key highlight on the international equestrian calendar,” said Mrs Jackie Woodhead, Equestrian Victoria CEO.

As current Director of Training and Education for the influential German National Equestrian Federation and German Olympic Committee for Equestrian Sports and as an internationally acclaimed trainer of judges, instructors and riders, Christoph’s attendance is set to attract competitors and impress the audience at the MI3DE.

Equestrian fans will be provided a rare insight into Christoph’s experience with a Masterclass aptly titled ‘Better Riding with Christoph Hess,’ on the evening of Friday 10 June, at the Werribee Park National Equestrian Centre (WPNEC).
Admission to ‘Better Riding with Christoph Hess,’ is FREE for those with a day pass for the Friday (Dressage phase) of the MI3DE or any seasons pass.
