It's time to celebrate 60 years of eventing

Published on Thursday, April 20, 2017 in General

In 1957, Neale Lavis made history by taking out Australia's first three-day event at Centennial Park, in Sydney - the birth place of the Sydney International Horse Trials. This moment was the genesis of a proud Australian sporting tradition.

Since then, the members of the of the Australian eventing community have had much to be proud of. Our eventers have triumphed on the international stage, winning a total of 6 gold, 3 silver and 3 bronze Olympic medals.

To mark the 60th anniversary of the Sydney 3DE, the Sydney International Horse Trials will be celebrating the achievements of our eventing champions, both past and present.

In honour of our 60th Anniversary we have commissioned a documentary on the history of eventing in Australia. This film will be premiered on Saturday evening, 13 May at this year's Sydney International Horse Trials (11-14 May 2017).

If you're an elite eventer, a weekend warrior, an owner, an official, a volunteer , a spectator, or a just lover of eventing - we would love you to help us celebrate the 60th anniversary of our sport by attending the premiere of the documentary "Riding High" this May.
