Join in the Fun at the 2012 Kilcoy Country Show

Published on Thursday, April 12, 2012 in Sponsored Shows

Agricultural shows are in full swing at this time of year in Queensland and Kilcoy Show, being held 20-21 April, is a fine example of a good old fashioned country show!

On the horse front, there is plenty on offer with local day Friday, which features a full programme for nearby residents to participate in the show for a relaxed and fun day of competition.

Saturday's schedule features seven rings with something for everyone, whatever your breed, discipline or level of experience.

Horsezone is sponsoring the Supreme Led Exhibit, where the winner will receive a beautiful embroidered trophy rug, and various other classes.

The committee has organised top quality judges for the show, including interstate showing judge, Kay King (NSW) who will be judging the Australian Stock Horses, Thoroughbreds, ANSA and Hacks. Well respected Queensland judge, Tina Crutchley, will be judging the Andalusians, Standardbreds, Arabians and Galloway Hacks, while Catherine James is lending her judging expertise to the pony breeds, Pony Hacks and Rider Classes.

For the Miniatures, a MHAA 'A' Class High Point Feature Show is being held, for which the committee has secured the judging skills of Marie Evans and there is a full programme for these hugely popular little horses to show off their versatility.

The heavy and harness horses haven't been forgotten and there are plenty of classes on offer, including Harness Sporting Events, which should be entertaining for competitors and spectators alike!

The western and coloured breeds are being very capably judged by Vicky Gough and include led and ridden classes for Quarter Horses, Appaloosas, Paints, Palominos, Buckskins, White Horses, Dilutes and Gypsy Cobs.

Over in the Dressage Ring, which is separate to the main ring, competitors in the Kilcoy Vet Practice Dressage Spectacular will be able to focus on their tests without distractions. Entries close this Friday for the Dressage - schedule and entry form attached.

The Showjumping Ring will also be in a separate ring and should provide a great day of competition, with classes to suit all levels from under 12 years to the "Lionel Craig Memorial" 120cm class.
