Local Business Supports Riders4Helmets International Helmet Awareness Day

Published on Tuesday, May 31, 2011 in General

Southern Stars Saddlery is proud to announce that they will be supporting the Riders4Helmets International Helmet Awareness Day, on 11th June 2011.

“As a business, we firmly believe in promoting rider safety and offering the very best safety products available,” says Director Kelvin Fredericks. “Champion Helmets are not only top standard, they are also very popular with riders for the comfortable and stylish designs.”

The Champion range of helmets are EN1384 standard and importantly also carry the Kitemark. This demonstrates to consumers that they are continually batch tested to ensure each helmet produced for sale surpasses those standards. Unfortunately, a large number of helmets currently on the market in Australia carrying the EN standard are not batch tested, and this means that some batches may not meet the required standard. Horse Safety Australia has endorsed Champion Helmets as their EN helmet of choice because of being awarded the BSI Kitemark.

On June 11th, 2011 riders that are considering replacing their helmets will be able to receive a 20% discount off the entire Champion Helmet range when shopping online at www.southernstarssaddlery.com or if they visit the Southern Stars Saddlery tradestand at Melbourne 3DE.

Riders4Helmets is a US based online lobby group promoting the use of Helmets. It was started in 2010 as a reaction to the serious fall of US Dressage rider Courtney King Dye who was riding at home without a helmet at the time of her fall. She was in a coma for over a month and is still undergoing rehabilitation.

Team Fredericks Riders, Australians Clayton and Lucinda Fredericks train and compete in Champion Helmets, as do many of the top eventers and riders around the globe.

Southern Stars Saddlery is a business that highly values rider safety is very proud to be involved in this event which works to promote rider safety to all riders in all disciplines.
