Man Critical After Horse Collapses on Him

A man is in critical condition after his 17 year old former race horse tragically died of a heart attack and collapsed on him, while he was riding on a beach at Killarney, Victoria, on Saturday.

The 63 year old man, who is an experienced rider, suffered a severe fracture to his pelvis and internal bleeding. When the accident happened, he was taking part in the Dunolly Horse Activity Club's annual Christmas ride. The club is part of the Australian Trail Horse Riders Association.
