Mark Todd Makes Shortlist for New Zealand Sportsman of the Year Award

Published on Monday, January 2, 2012 in General

New Zealand equestrian legend Mark Todd is among the final four contenders for New Zealand Sportsman of the Year.

Following his nomination by Equestrian Sports New Zealand - after winning the Badminton Horse Trials against many of the world's best eventers - Todd was initially on a longer list of 12 names, however, the voting panel of 28 has now narrowed the list to four names.

The other three are All Black captain Richie McCaw, who led the All Blacks to last year's Rugby World Cup win, the side's blindside flanker Jerome Kaino, and rower Mahe Drysdale.

The winner of the awards for Sportsman of the Year, Sportswoman of the Year, Team of the Year and Disabled Sportsperson of the Year are eligible for the Supreme Halberg Award
