Congratulations to Megan Bryant and her Don Ramiro mare, Donnabella, who have been selected to participate in the FEI World Cup Dressage for Young Riders in Germany. The FEI World Cup Dressage for Young Riders will be held at Frankfurt, Germany from December 17 to the 20.

At only 19 years of age Megan, will be competing against 13 other combinations from across the globe, including NZL rider Georgia Worth and her horse, Veritas, with whom Donnabella will travel on the horse flight to Germany. They will make the trip to Europe next month to prepare for the competition in December. Only two riders are allowed from our FEI region (Asia/Africa/Pacific).

The FEI World Cup Dressage for Young Riders is a competition at the FEI Young Rider level, comprising of qualifying Young Rider events and a final. FEI level is the highest level of Dressage in the World.

Megan and Donnabella competed in the four qualifying competitions at Dressage with the Stars, Victorian Young Rider Festival, Sydney CDI and National Young Rider Championships in Toowoomba, to achieve the highest overall percentage in the Individual Freestyle from these events, which secured their trip to Germany. Riders between the ages of 16 and 21 compete in FEI Young Rider Individual Test (PSG level) and must score over 58% to be able to compete in the Freestyle.

In Germany riders will compete in the Prix St George, as a warm up, followed by the FEI Young Rider Individual Test, with the top six riders going on to compete the ‘A’ Freestyle. All other riders will compete in the ‘B’ Freestyle.

Best of luck to Megan and Donnabella from everyone at Horsezone!
