National Launch of Ready Set Trot

Published on Friday, March 1, 2013 in General

Ready Set Trot, a new national equestrian program which is encouraging more young people to have fun and get involved with horses, is being launched today at Palmerston Primary School.

Palmerston Primary School is one of the first in Australia to sign-up to the program and students from the school will meet the Federal Sports Minister, the Honourable Kate Lundy, and Olympic Silver Medallist and Ready Set Trot ambassador Shane Rose, at the Gooromon Park Riding Centre where they will take a tour of the stables and horses and have a special presentation with the Minister and Shane Rose.

Ready Set Trot provides schools with traditional playground games that have a horsey twist with the aim of getting young people active and excited about equestrian sports. An additional eight session program run by clubs and riding schools will complement the school’s based program allowing young people to further their horse skills, knowledge and ability through mounted games and activities.

Ready Set Trot is a joint initiative of Equestrian Australia, Pony Club Australia and the Australian Sports Commission.
