NPHA Pleasure Celebration Show Kicks Off Today
Australia's most prestigious western show, the NPHA Pleasure Celebration, started today at SIEC and will run through until Sunday 27 May, culminating with the highly anticipated final of the Three Year Old Western Pleasure.
The program features all western performance events for open, amateur and youth competitors and will showcase some of the best Quarter Horses, Paints and Appaloosas in the country. Classes include Halter, Showmanship, Hunter Under Saddle, Hunt Seat Equitation, Western Pleasure, Western Horsemanship, Western Riding and Reining. Many horses, especially those ridden by Youth and Amateur competitors, may compete in almost all these events, highlighting the versatility and amazing trainability of western horses.
Horsezone is sponsoring the Senior Horse Hunter Under Saddle Stakes, which is being run on Saturday and Jo Johnson will be coming down from Queensland to report on all the big final events over the weekend.
Mark Webster, Horsezone's Managing Director, has two horses competing - the lovely two year old Quarter Horse, Tiger on the Loose, with Carolyn Johnson in the saddle and Gloss and Glam who will be ridden by Mark's daughter, Jacinda, in the three year old and Senior Youth classes.
If you're a fan of western performance and western bred horses, or would like to learn more about this graceful sport and the beautiful, talented and perfect natured horses who excel at it, be sure to come along to the NPHA Pleasure Celebration show!
