Olympic Medallist Returns to Australia to Teach Our Future Champions

Popular rider and trainer, Clayton Fredericks is returning home to Australia for a national Clinic Tour to pass on his knowledge and experience to Australian based riders of all ages and levels.

The Victorian clinic is already fully booked, with a wait list after Clayton’s previous clinics were so well received.  The QLD, NSW and WA clinics are still taking bookings.

“We will be focusing on improving the horse’s way of going,” says Clayton. “Rather than just jumping big fences, so the clinic is suitable for all levels of horse and rider combinations.

“Technique is vitally important, so the Saturday will be focusing on Flat work for Jumping- lots of grid work and poles to improve the quality of the canter, and the shape the horse makes over the jump.

“Sunday will be out on the Cross Country course, working on Riding Cross Country Safely and Effectively.  The techniques learnt on the Saturday will then be translated to the XC course and the different challenges faced out in the open.”

Clayton is well respected as a trainer across the globe, regularly taking clinics and lessons in the UK, USA, Hong Kong and Australia.  His easy going, approachable manner ensures that all the riders feel at ease and comfortable, getting the very best value they can from this amazing learning opportunity.

His achievements on the world stage include representing Australia as part of the Silver Medal winning Olympic team in 2008, winning Team Bronze and Individual Silver at WEG 2006, Rolex Kentucky winner in 2007 and this year a swag of wins at CCI3* and 2* level, as well as placing 5th at Rolex Kentucky.  The experience and knowledge that he has to offer to Australian riders is invaluable.  Clayton will be at Equitana on the Southern Stars Saddlery Stand, as well as giving two demonstrations as part of the Equitana Education Program.
