Party Time for CatWalk with the Fools & Horses Charity Dinner

 

Partygoers in Sydney next month are guaranteed a great night out, with further support for CatWalk’s Fools & Horses charity dinner on 8 April 2012 at the Four Seasons Hotel in Sydney. 

Timed to coincide with the Sydney Autumn Racing Carnival, Fools & Horses continues to attract the key players in Australian racing, with the latest contender rocketing out of the starting blocks.  

The Only Fools and Horses Work debate will be central to the evening, with a number of sports and racing personalities already committed to taking part, including Black Caviar’s trainer Peter Moody.

Widden’s Antony Thompson has declared that he’s stepping up to adjudicate the evening’s comedy debate in his role as The Stud Master.

Thompson said he would be tougher than the NSW stipendiary panel and was determined to stamp out any shenanigans

“It’s going to be harder to win this debate, than take out the Doncaster,” Thompson said.  “I’m going to make them work for it.”

In addition, Antony Thompson has announced the donation of a service to Widden’s Champion young sire Stratum, which will be auctioned for the cause of finding a cure for Spinal Cord Injury.

CatWalk founder Catriona Williams said she was overwhelmed with the support for the event, which is being run in conjunction with the Spinal Cord Injury Network of Australia.

“People like Antony and Peter are the ones who will help get us out of chairs and back on our feet,” she said.

She also praised the generous backing of Inglis (Australia’s leading thoroughbred auctioneer) who will provide insurance cover up to the value of the 2011 stallion service fees purchased on the night to safeguard the charity proceeds.

“It’s going to be a win – win for everyone.”

Sydney’s Fools & Horses champagne dinner takes place on 8 April, with all profits going to fund research into a cure for Spinal Cord Injury.   Tickets can be purchased via www.inglis.com.au or www.catwalk.org.nz

The Spinal Cord Injury Network of Australia and The CatWalk Trust of New Zealand are collaborating on the evening with one person a day across both countries suffering a life altering SCI, at a cost of $2.2 billion annually.

Other highlights of the auction will include a Champagne Breakfast experience with racetrack sensation Black Caviar, plus service auctions for top quality stallions High Chaparral and Exceed and Excel, as well as Stratum.
