PCANSW Wamboin Wildcats to compete at State Mounted Games

Teams of riders including the Wamboin Wildcats are preparing for the Pony Club NSW State Mounted Games Championships to be held at Bungendore Showground, Bungendore from the 10-11th October 2015.   

Teams travel from Pony Clubs all over NSW for this state qualifying event, with competitors and their families camping at the venue for the period of the championship.

Competition is expected to be strong with thirty two teams entered in this year’s event, making up a total of 160 competitors. Host Pony Club Zone 16 has seven teams entered from local pony clubs in the area. Team names include the CRC Wanna B (Canberra Riding Club team), The Devils (Belconnen Pony Club), The Gallopers (Geary’s Gap Pony Club) and the Zone 16 Masters (Zone Team).

Mounted Games are a series of fast races performed by riders on horses while competing in teams of four riders plus a reserve. Some of the games that are held over the weekend include the Balloon Bursting, Hurdle and Sword Race.  

The championship will commence on Saturday, 10th October from 8:30am and conclude Sunday afternoon with the mounted presentation ceremony.  

The next state events are the Pony Club NSW State One Day Event Championships which is to be held at Mudgee from the 17-18^th October and the State Showriding Championships to be held at Parkes from the 5-6^th December 2015.
