Caboolture awoke to grey skies on 18 September, however, there was nothing dull about the showgrounds, which had been invaded by Pinto Horses of every size, shape and colour, for the Queensland Pinto State Championship Show. Horsezone were a major sponsor of this important event and we are very proud to be supporting the beautiful Pinto Horses and their owners. The show kicked off promptly at 8.00am with 2 main rings for the multitude of led events, including classes such as Best Marked Tobiano, Best Marked Overo, Best Bred to Type, Best Head and Best Trot, as well as mare, gelding and stallion classes.

As there are so many different types of Pinto Horses, they are split into divisions of 'not exceeding 14hh' and 'exceeding 14hh', thus the 2 rings. There was a ring with ponies which included everything from miniature horses and ponies up to Welsh and Australian type ponies, the other ring was made up of horses of all types including Paints, Arabians and Gypsy Cobs. One thing all the horses have in common is their registration as Pinto Horses, however, each is uniquely marked and the many and varied colour combinations and coat patterns were amazing. The height classes were split again in each ring and divided into age groups: Junior (3 years and under) and Senior (4 years and over) for separate judging. This sounds confusing, however, it certainly seemed the fairest way for the judges to assess such different types of horses. The led classes ran smoothly with large numbers in most classes and good quality horses presented for the judges, even the sun decided to make an appearance and warm up the day, not daring to remain absent with such colourful exhibits to be admired!

After the led classes were finished being judged, there were various harness and ridden events, which showcased the stunning versatility of Pinto Horses, who are not just pretty faces!
