Princess Haya to Visit Badminton

Published on Tuesday, March 8, 2011 in General

HRH Princess Haya Al Hussein, in her capacity as President of the International Equestrian Federation (FEI), is to visit the Mitsubishi Motors Badminton Horse Trials in April. It will be the second time HRH Princess Haya attends the world premier three day event and during her visit, will join our host, the Duke of Beaufort alongside Lance Bradley, Mitsubishi Motors UK Managing Director, to present the prizes on the final day of the Trials.

Sport has been a dominant part of life for HRH Princess Haya since childhood. Her work with the FEI, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and other sport organisations is a labour of love with a long history. She is motivated by her love of equestrian sport and her belief that sport improves lives, empowers women, and breaks down barriers between people and nations. Her experience with sport also influences her humanitarian efforts and her work as a UN Messenger of Peace. HRH Princess Haya has worked closely with the UN’s Sport for Development and Peace program to use sport to improve the lives of refugees and impoverished youths.
