Qld Working Cow Horse Club Cutting and Team Penning - Results

Winners of the Open Team Penning -  L-R: Jeff Symonds, Leonie Veivers and Greg Veivers  – had their 3 head penned in 27.8 seconds!

 

The Qld Working Cow Horse Club (QWCHC) held a two day event on the 19-20 November at the Caboolture Indoor arena.

Saturday featured a two handed snaffle bit cutting competition, followed by a wild card team penning event and all the fun of NBHA Barrel Racing at night.

Open and Junior Team Penning was held on the Sunday with some fast times recorded.

All nominations from the Wild Card Team Penning event where donated to the Prostate Cancer Research Institute at the Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane.  There were also collections made from spectators and competitors during the day as well as a raffle.  Throughout the weekend novelty fines of $5.00 were given for things like losing your hat in the arena while riding.  All these proceeds were donated to the appeal. Stay tuned for details on the exact amount raised by this event.

Overall it was two great days of competition for competitors and spectators alike!

Two handed snaffle bit cutting competition

1st place – Wayne Edwards with a score of 73

There was a draw for 2^nd and 3^rd place – Simon Rayner and Rod Tinney both with a score of 72

4^th place – Simon Rayner with a score of 71.5.

Wild Card Team Penning

1^st – Greg Bartlett, Wendy Maguire and Jeff Symond – 3 penned in 47.56 seconds

2^nd – Greg Bartlett, Sue Bartlett and Crystal Patterson – 3 penned in 50.56 seconds

3^rd – Wendy Maguire, Neal Rylatt and Ash Haywood – 3 penned in 53.38 seconds

Open Team Penning Competition

1^st – Greg Veivers, Leonie Veivers and Jeff Symonds – 3 penned in 27.8 seconds

2^nd – Gaye Ellis, Warren Ellis and John Heeb – 3 penned in 30.30 seconds

3^rd – Greg Bartlett, Sue Bartlett and Ken Howes – 3 penned in 35.02 seconds

4^th – Sheree Bright, Tony Bright and Vicki Lawler – 3 penned in 36.55 seconds

Junior Team Penning Competition

1^st – Emily Guest, Ellie Granger and Kielan Cox – 3 penned in 59.94 seconds

2^nd – Emily Guest, Cody Granger and Kielan Cox – 3 penned in 1.37.20

3^rd – Ellie Granger, Cody Granger and Kielan Cox – 3 penned in 1.48.66
