If you're looking to make it to the top of the game in showjumping, eventing or dressage, now is your chance to imitate some of the world's best riders - including Rich Fellers and Phillippe Le Jeune - and own a prestigious Antarès saddle!

Antarès Sellier France was started in March of 2000, when five professionals within the horse world came together: Xavier Lenrouilly, Thierry Guiberteau, Eric Guiberteau, Evelyne Cummings, and Dominique Bauer. They decided to share their ideas and expertise to create products that more closely resembled their personal philosophies.

The object of Antarès is to create for each rider, a unique saddle made specifically to their measurements and their desire is to bring the art of saddlery to serve the comfort and the security of both horse and rider.

Since its inception, Antarès Sellier has successfully risen to be among the best saddle makers in France. The workshop in Saintes, comprised of 35 craftsmen, specializing in bridlery, harness making, or saddlery, produces more than 3000 saddles each year.

The originality, vivacity and the creativity of the men and women who make up Antarès, have changed the standards of saddle making and evolved the profession to what it is today.

Their Antarès range covers not only a wide range of saddles but also bridles, breastplates, martingales, draw reins, boots, girths and helmets.

Australian showjumper, Jamie Smith, first tried Antarès saddles when he was competing in the USA - where they are hugely popular - and was immediately hooked! Antarès sponsored Jamie overseas and on his return home, he decided to look into becoming the distributor for this top quality brand in Australia. Jamie travelled to France and spent time with the Antarès team and found out all there was to know about the products, before launching the range in Australia, at Equitana 2010.

Since then, the popularity of Antarès saddlery has grown in Australia with some of our top riders now totally converted. Elite showjumpers, Jamie Kermond and Jamie Winning, are amongst those who now use Antarès and couldn't be happier, saying, "We have tried a few different brands of saddles in the past but have never felt more comfortable than in the Antarès. Quality saddles are getting relatively expensive, but are obviously a necessity in the sport. With an Antarès we feel you get everything and more than what you're paying for - something we can't say for some other brands owned previously. Antarès saddles are incredibily durable and keep that 'new' look for ages - ours still look new!"

"As well as the saddles, we started with one bridle, breastplate and helmet each and after using this gear for a short time, quickly ordered more bridles, breastplates, stud guards, draw reins and the list goes on. The quality is second to none. We love the way it looks, all class, as well as being unique and I find that nothing fits the horses better. We've used a lot of gear in the past, a bit of this and a bit of that, but we're slowly replacing everything with Antarès, because once you use it on one horse you want every horse in it!"

Antarès Australia is based in Bega, NSW and Jamie Smith spends a lot of time travelling around Australia to events, so people can have a test ride in a saddle, view the full range of saddlery and have a fitting done for their horse.

Jamie is hoping to attend the NSW State Indoor Championships at Tamworth on 25-28 October and will also be at EQUITANA Melbourne with his range of Antarès saddlery. Stay tuned to the Antarès Australia facebook page for updated information on events where Jamie will be in attendance.
