Recapping a full weekend of Equestrian sport

With a number of Australian combinations competing at top class events both here and overseas, equestrian fans had plenty of sport to follow this weekend.

In Europe, members of our Olympic Games Shadow Team contested the first of the team’s Dressage and Jumping nomination events. 

Australia entered eight Dressage combinations in the Mannheim CDI3* (GER) and three Aussie combinations posted impressive results in the Dressage Grand Prix to proceed to the GP special. Click here for all the highlights and results

There are 12 Australian Jumping combinations in contention for Olympic Games selection and six riders completed the first phase of the selection process at the Nations Cup competition and first round of the Grand Prix in Lummen CSIO4* Click here for all the highlights and results

Still on Jumping, Edwina-Tops Alexander retained top position on the Global Champions Tour leader board after she and Cevo Itot du Chateau finished the Valencia, Spain Grand Prix in ninth place. The result coincided with the release of the latest FEI world Rolex Rankings which saw Edwina move ahead four places to sixth position.   Click here for all the highlights and results

Still in Europe, UK based Aussie Eventers Clayton Fredericks and Bill Levett swept the stakes at the Jardy CIC3*. After the cancellation of Badminton the duo secured last minute starts at the French event and went on to dominate the field finishing in first, second and third position.  Click here for all the highlights and results

Closer to home one of Australia’s premier Dressage events -  The Sydney CDI - celebrated 20 years and a huge audience gathered at the indoor arena of the Sydney International Equestrian Centre to see crowd favourite Heath Ryan win the Grand Prix Freestyle. Click here for all the highlights and results.

A big weekend of competition awaits our Para-Equestrian riders who will compete at their fourth and final Paralympic Games nomination event from 11-13 May at the Sydney International Equestrian Centre. Also this weekend, the second group of
