Royal Rodeo: Kate and Wills Cowboy Up at the Calgary Stampede

The legendary Calgary Stampede is on now!  Called The Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth, the Calgary Stampede runs from 8 to 17 July and is a huge drawcard for visitors to Canada.

As their website says, "At the Calgary Stampede, ordinary people become cowboys and cowboys become heroes. For ten full days, Calgarians and visitors celebrate our unique western heritage and values."

Amongst the thousands of visitors to this iconic event were Prince William and Kate Middleton, who attended the Calgary Stampede on the last day of their Canadian tour and went all out to look like locals.

Wearing Stetsons and jeans, the royal couple were greeted by the Governor General of Canada, His Excellency David Johnston, at the event and enjoyed a wonderful day watching all that the Stampede had to offer.
