They Halter, they ride, they are the most people friendly horses that one could care to find! Once you’ve owned a HF Somethin Hot you just have to have another - they really are contagious.

It’s no wonder, nor surprising that HF Somethin Hot (aka Sam) horses continually keep their owners in the winning circle.

Imported as a weanling by Winderadeen Corporation, Sam was bred to be great! You’ve heard the saying ~ A blue blood~ HF Somethin Hot is a true blue blood.

Sam’s sire, Raddical Rodder, (by Hot Rodders Jet Set) is a USA leading sire, himself a “WORLD CHAMPION” at Western Pleasure holding a SUPERIOR AWARD at Western Pleasure and is also a reserve CONGRESS CHAMPION. His Progeny have won WORLD CHAMPION and CONGRESS CHAMPION titles and he has sired World and National Champions through six major breeds in seven catogories!

Sam’s dam is the amazing Tahnee Zippo, the Zippo Pine Bar mare, revered within the American Western Pleasure industry. Her Progeny include:

  • Hot N Spicy Me - By Hot Rodders Jet Set (blood sister to HF Somethin Hot) WORLD CHAMPION 2yo Western Pleasure.

  • Prettiest Jet Yet - by Hot Rodders Jet Set. (blood sister to HF Somethin Hot) Res WORLD CHAMPION 2yo Western Pleasure

  • HF Bently – NSBA world Champion, Congress Champion and top 5 in western pleasure and trail at the World Championships. HF Rolex. X Radical Rodder (full brother to Sam) 221 points at Western pleasure and 13 all round championships!

  • BLAZING HOT - Three Time All American Quarter Horse Congress Champion, Multiple AQHA World Champion. Never in the history of the AmQHA World Show has any horse won both World Champion Jr. Western Riding and Jr. Western Pleasure in the same year...until Blazing Hot. Besides being an AQHA two-time World Champion, Blaze was the 1994 Quarter Horse Congress Two-Year-Old Western Pleasure Futurity Champion and the 1995 Congress Three-Year-Old Open Western Pleasure Derby Champion. Blazing Hot is sired by Hotrodders Jet Set, sire of RADICAL RODDER (Sam’s sire) and out of Tahnee Zippo, (Sam’s Dam) making him a 7/8th brother to HF SOMETHIN HOT. Or blood Brother, if you so please. BLAZING HOT as a sire is outstanding! Robbie Schroeder says Blazing Hot was a very fast horse, he won at barrels also and if he were to have continued with barrel racing would have been an exceptional barrel race horse. He describes this as VERSATILITY at its best. Blaze won many Junior high point all round awards!

So, it was with great anticipation that HF Somethin Hot with Pauline Stewart Fox as his trainer, started on the road to fame. Sam was never hurried. Pauline set Sam for a his first ridden outing as a three year old, her training up until then had been with steady and consistent conditioning, keeping in mind that being USA born, Sam was six months behind his Australian counterparts. It was imperative that he have an edge as his plan included being the follow up to the leading AQHA champion sire and resident at Winderadeen, Cee A Barpasser. Sam was needed and purchased specifically to breed over the Cee A Bapasser mares with the intention of keeping Winderadeen at the top of the ladder.

Starting out at the local club shows at halter to give Sam a taste of what was to come in the ring, was a top idea. He took champion halter stallion at each outing and when shown at the BIG ONES was awarded Grand Champion stallion at the prestigious Australian Halter Showcase followed by Champion 3 year old stallion at the Australian Quarter Horse Championships.

Pauline was ready to enter the arena on Sam as a western pleasure horse! In March 2004 Sam was Australian Halter Showcase Reserve Western Pleasure Futurity Champion at his first outing. 23 seasoned 3 year olds contested the event carrying the leading riders from across the nation.

Excitement was building about Sam’s future. A month later was Q4 where Sam took the title of 3yo CHAMPION STALLION at halter. Then the title of Junior Western Pleasure Champion was Sam’s, out of a top class field of 24.

The country was now abuzz about Sam’s performances. They talked of his movement and attitude. Sam was on his way!

NPHA in May was very exciting. Sam won the Wayne Judge Memorial 3yo Western Pleasure Futurity from a very strong class of 19 polished horses.

A well earned rest before his first breeding season saw Sam cover an easy book, producing seven registered 2004 foals. These were the unveiling of his ability as a sire. Of the seven registered foals six have been shown, they are:

  • Annlee Light My Fire -1402 points - Multiple National, NPHA, State and HSC champion

  • Macy Gray - 125.5 points - Multiple State and HSC champion awards in open and amateur

  • Winderadeen Im Somethin - 57 points - Multiple top 5 AQHA and NPHA Championships in Youth open and amateur

  • Winderadeen Play It Again Sam -  613.5 points - Mulitiple National State and NPHA champion with 12 awards

  • Winderadeen Somelikithot (EXP to USA) - 230 points - Multiple State, National and NPHA Western Pleasure 2yo Futurity Champion amassing 6 awards. This beautiful mare was sold and EXPORTED TO USA where she amassed multiple circuit championships

  • YSL Isadora -  53 points - Multiple State and NPHA champion (EXP NZ)

It was to be as Pauline and Mrs Anthony had envisaged. Sam was an outstanding show horse and an equally outstanding sire, leaving champions in open, youth and amateur competitions the country over.

The 2005 plans for Sam were to head to Australian Halter Showcase in March after his stint in the breeding barn. This lovely natured gentleman took it all in his stride.

At Australian Halter Showcase Sam took the Junior Western Pleasure Champion in a field of 37 horses.

In May of 2005, the NSW State Quarter Horse Show saw Sam as the Junior Western Pleasure Champion out of 15, Junior Trail Champion out of 31 and Western Pleasure Futurity Champion. Just to prove his all round versatility, Sam then went Reserve Champion Hunter under Saddle from a field of 29 and won the NSW STATE HIGH POINT JUNIOR HORSE. Sound familiar? See Blazing Hot's story above!

At the NPHA a few days later Sam finished his show career with another NPHA Western Pleasure Champion Futurity title by winning the NPHA Western Pleasure Derby from a field of 22 horses.

In the breeding barn of 2005, 30 AQHA mares were bred to Sam.

There were 20 individual 2005 points earning progeny from 30 foals (with two reported as dead), these included:

  • He Is Something - 205.5 points

  • Hot Zipnlee - 633 points

  • RRD Somethin to Cee - 150.5 points

  • Somethin Stylish - 121.5 points

To mention just a few... this was sure some siring feat!

There have been many champions and reserve champions by Sam's progeny in what is considered the most prestigious class in the western pleasure industry - the $20K NPHA 2YO Western Pleasure Futurity. These include:

  • 2007 - Winderadeen Somlikithot - she returned the following year to win the 3yo NPHA Western Pleaure Futurity

  • 2008 - RRD Somethin To Cee - she also returned the following year to win the 3yo NPHA Western Pleasure Futurity

  • 2009 - Hot Ziggitty was reserve champion behind our Coronation Park owned mare Winderadeen Havalilfaith by Cee A Barpasser -  4th 5th 8th and 9th were also sired by Sam

  • 2010 - Sumpth N Noble - 3rd 4th 5th 6th and 8th place were all by Sam

  • 2011 - Winderadeen Ceeilikithot - reserve champion was Bruce Almighty who was also sired by Sam

  • 2012 - I Like That was reserve champion and 3rd and  4th were also by Sam - I Like That went on to win the 3yo NPHA Western Pleasure Futurity the following year

  • 2013 - Extreme Dream was reserve champion - 3rd 4th 7th and 8th were also by Sam.

Sam has sired too many NPHA Amateur, Youth and Open Champions in Western Pleasure, Hunter Under Saddle, Trail, Showmanship, Horsemanship, Led Trail and Lungeline to list!

His list of champions is now endless. His progeny hold titles at Australian Halter Showcase, Summer Sizzler, NPHA, at State and National Championships for Quarter Horses, Paints and Appaloosas.

Sam's progeny constantly dominate the top 10 spots at all the major shows. This is astounding and a credit to the breeding programs of Winderadeen Corporation and the owners of the mares who bred to Sam. The USA Judges are usually amazed to learn the top ten consists mainly of Sam’s Progeny, but not so surprised when they learn that Sam is a blood brother to Blazing Hot.

Sitting in the stands year after year witnessing these amazing horses strutting their stuff taking home the spoils is a wonderful experience. Sam exhibits PREPOTENCY as a sire at its best!

Peter derives great pleasure in telling our Thoroughbred friends that our stallion, HF Somethin Hot is the Danehill of the western World. They raise their eyebrows!

HF Somethin Hot stands 15.3hh, he is kind, gentle and quiet. He loves to meet people. It's not until you see him set free upon has pasture to play that he amazes you with his movement. His stride is long, easy and soft with a natural cadence. He possesses a certain stong beauty, correct conformation, self carriage and kind personality that he consistently passes on to his progeny. Its no wonder this gentle big horse is the sire he is. He is renowned for the 'peas in a pod' type of horse he produces, they all stand out in the arena.

Many horses are stallions - not many stallions are sires!

Sam's progeny exhibit good bone, feet, body depth, size, movement and substance. His wonderful nature passes on and allows his progeny to compete in all avenues of the western world, rodeo and English disciplines.

Owning a leading sire is a once in a lifetime dream. When we first imported the World Champion Paint horse Just Shameless, we could not imagine the impact he would have on the Paint horse and western world in Australia. Shameless was an outstanding sire.

To have HF Somethin Hot to follow along after Just Shameless is a dream come true. Two outstanding sires that will leave a legacy to the western world for a very long time.
