Progeny of Lethal Lil Calboy, resident stallion of Mondure Quarter Horses in Queensland, had success at the recent NSWRHA State Championships, which proved that this sire is passing on his great talent and trainability.

Stud owner, Jolene King, rode 2008 gelding Smoke N Calboy for a win in the Novice Horse Non-Pro, third in the Non-Pro Derby, Second in the Intermediate Non-Pro Derby and Fourth in the Ladies.

Jolene only started showing this impressive gelding this year and is thrilled with his progress. At their first show, the QRHA Derby Shoot Out, they won three classes and placed second in another. They then went on to win the three divisions of the Non-Pro Derby, the Novice Horse Non-Pro, the Open Non-Pro and also placed co-champion in the Ladies at the Pacific Coast Reining Championships last month.

Smoke N Calboy was trained by Shaun Saunders and placed in the NSW and QLD State Futurities 2012.

Another of Lethal Lil Calboy's top performing progeny is Lethal Lil Katie, who Jolene purchased for her daughter Grace to show. This mare has wins that include the VRHA Derby Show, snafflebit champion, QRHA Non pro futurity champion, NSWRHA snaffle bit, NRHA Non Pro Futurity and the Waterwheel Maturity Champion with 73.5.

At the NSWRHA State Championships Grace and Katie competed for the first time and after only three rides they placed second in the Short Stirrup Reining, an event for children 10 and under.

Meanwhile, another of Lethal Lil Calboy's progeny, Sunrise Calgirl, won the 3rd Division Barrel Race at Canungra NBHA on the weekend!
