Sydney International 3DE - Only 8 Weeks to Go!

The action will be HOT at the Sydney International 3DE this September!

With the London Olympics coming up next year, Australian based riders are keen to impress selectors for their chance to travel to the UK and try to win another Eventing Gold medal to add to Australia’s collection. 

From 8 - 11 September this exciting event is being held at SIEC and will encompass dressage, cross country and showjumping, as well as the Australian Young Horse Championships and even Dog Agility. 

The total cash prize pool for the 3DE will be $16,250, which includes prize money for CCI 1* and CCN PN.

Tickets are available online or at the gate and include parking and programme. Cost of tickets are as follows:

  • Thursday 8 September - FREE
  • Friday 9 September - Adults 16 years & over $10, Under 16 years & pensioners FREE
  • Saturday 10 September - Adults 16 years & over $15, Under 16 years & pensioners FREE
  • Sunday 11 September - Adults 16 years & over $15, Under 16 years & pensioners FREE
 
There are also tickets available for the Jump Inn Cafe package which includes entry, program, VIP parking, prime undercover seating, gourmet lunch, afternoon tea and drinks. Event Package is only $300 for three days. The Jump Inn Cafe will open on Friday, Saturday and Sunday from10am each day. Tickets available online. 
 
A Welcome Reception is being held on Thursday 8 September from 7pm where you're invited to join the riders, grooms, owners and sponsors. Meet your Eventing heros and wish them good luck! Tickets are $25, which includes light meal and complimentary drink. Tickets available online
 
Another exciting feature of the Sydney International 3DE will be a hosted cross country walk, where you'll be able to join an Eventing Expert on a course walk at approx 10am Saturday. Learn about the types of fences found on a world class cross country course and the skills needed to successfully negotiate these obstacles. Tickets are $20 and all funds will be used towards course upgrades for future events. Tickets available online or at the merchandise tent at the event. Riders, grooms, owners and sponsors are welcome to join in for free.
 
The Australian Young Event Horse Championships are also being held and the aim of these classes is to encourage trainers and breeders to produce and present the correct type of young horse which is considered to be the best material to make a world class three day event horse. The jumping heights for these championship classes are slightly higher than previous Young Horse classes:
  • Five year old (90cm)
  • Six year old (1.0m)
  • seven year old (1.10m).
There will be a supreme champion judged from the first place winners in each class on Friday afternoon.
 
The Agility Dog Association of Australia NSW will be running a WAC FUNDRAISER COMPETITION at the 3DE on Sunday 11 September. Classes begin at 9am.
