The ABCRA National Finals are Over for Another Year!

The ABCRA National Finals are over for 2012.  With raving reviews it was an amazing week.  Round four of the National Finals Rodeo saw a full house at the AELEC centre, the announcers had the crowd on their feet.  The competition was tough, with many comments that this was the best line up of stock Australia has ever seen. 

Local competitor Dianne Parkinson was number one in the Steer Undecorating event with 2.47 seconds.  Jocelyn Faulkner was quick off the mark in the Breakaway Roping winning in 2.72 seconds.  Kylie Barnett was first place in the Barrel Race with 17.63 seconds.

Heath Nichols celebrated his 21^st Birthday during round four and what better way than taking home the nights Steer Wrestling in 4.42 seconds.  Clay Bush was number one in the Rope and Tie event recording a quick time of 9.75 seconds.  Norm Stagg and Cameron Milner were number one in the Team Roping recording a time of 6.93 seconds.

Darren Clarke scored 85 points to win the Bareback and smash the AELEC arena record previously held by Dee Heinemann and Clifton Richardson.  Brad Pierce scored 84 points to win the fourth round of the Saddle Bronc event.  With only two qualified rides in the Bull Ride the fans got to see some amazing stock perform at their best.  Brad Pierce and Gerard Oversby split first place with 79 points.
