The Drought Breaks at Sydney Showjumping Club's First Competition for 2014

The Sydney Showjumping Club staged their first competition day for 2014 at Clarendon grounds on Sunday 16 February and it seemed to break the drought in the Sydney region. 

Over 20mls of rain fell in the region over the weekend and while everyone was delighted with the rain it meant that there were many scratchings  from Sunday’s events and those competitors that did attend got a bit damp in the process.

SSJC President David Lawrence said, “The grounds were in excellent condition when we started and our ground crew moved the jumps to fresh locations at every class change to give the horses the best footing. I had many competitors thanking us for going ahead in pretty testing conditions”.  

Course Designers were Mark Atkins and David Lawrence with judges being Sue Coonan, Sue Nault and Joyce Brook.
